Dr. Candis Claiborn shares responsibility with Dr. Bates for management of the ADVANCE at WSU project funds. She serves as a liaison between the ADVANCE grant and the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture, and is instrumental in identifying engineering faculty Departmental Liaisons.

Dr. Frances McSweeney serves as a liaison between the ADVANCE at WSU grant, the Office of the Provost, and other administrative offices. She provides expertise in all areas related to WSU faculty. She has worked with members of the ADVANCE at WSU Program Implementation Team to implement the COACHE survey and the Cohort Analysis of the Transition from Associate Professor to Professor. She works with the collected data to help to formulate policies that will advance all faculty members, with special awareness of women in STEM.

Amy S. Wharton, PhD

Professor of Sociology

Dr. Amy Wharton has primary responsibility for the ADVANCE at WSU research effort. This includes coordination of the ADVANCE Research group, collection of NSF Indicators, and overseeing WSU’s participation in the faculty COACHE survey. She also assists with implementation of the Leadership Initiative.
