A Biopsychosocial Perspective on Infant

Emotion and Cognition

Dr. Martha Ann Bell

Infant development is complex; consequently, infant research requires a multi-level approach. In this talk, I will discuss results from our longitudinal study on the foundations of regulatory emotion and cognition processes. I will highlight our EEG power/coherence research and emphasize the value of considering the parenting context in any study of infant development.

Dr. Martha Ann Bell currently works at the Department of Psychology, Virginia Tech. Martha Ann’s research is in Developmental and Biological Psychology.
