Women Seeking Grants
This workshop is designed for faculty, graduate students, and postdoctoral students to identify and overcome challenges associated with seeking research funding. In this workshop, Dr. Susan Coady Kemnitzer, former Deputy Director of the Chemical, Bioengineering, Environmental and Transport System Division of the National Science Foundation Directorate for Engineering, shares her expertise on seeking grant funding.
Participants will learn:
- How to represent oneself to funding agencies
- Dos and Don’ts, especially for women faculty seeking funding
- Opportunities related to mentoring and collaborations
Presentation by: Dr. Susan Coady Kemnitzer, Former Deputy Director of the Chemical, Bioengineering, Environmental and Transport System Division of the NSF Directorate for Engineering
Dr. Susan Coady Kemnitzer recently retired from a long career in leadership positions in science, engineering and natural resource management. Most recently, she served as Deputy Director of the Chemical, Bioengineering, Environmental and Transport System Division of the National Science Foundation Directorate for Engineering. Dr. Susan Coady Kemnitzer established the first programs at NSF for research into how students learn engineering; started new programs to attract veterans to study engineering using the Post 9/11 GI bill; and instigated the creation of the NSF I-Corps, a program targeting engineering students and faculty for development of entrepreneurial knowledge and skills.
