The Workshop

As academics, we may associate “negotiation” as an activity we engage in predominantly when seeking or renewing academic positions. But in reality, we negotiate every day with our collaborators, students, colleagues, and leadership. This workshop series reframes negotiation as an essential academic skill rooted in communication, influence, and relationship‑building.

Join Andrea Kupfer Schneider, internationally recognized negotiation scholar, professor, and co-author of “Smart & Savvy: Negotiation Strategies in Academia”, for a dynamic, research‑informed experience where participants will learn five core capacities that shape effective academic negotiation: assertiveness, empathy, flexibility, social intuition, and ethics.

This day-long series is designed to equip scholars at all stages of their academic career to communicate more effectively, reduce unnecessary conflict, and grow in their academic communities.
